Hiatus = OVER!

So I finally have my laptop back. It’s so much easier to get things done now. I’m not stuck in the living room, I don’t have to listen to the dog running up and down the hall, and I don’t have to listen to the little bastard spawn of Satan in the end apartment bouncing off the walls.

I almost didn’t have this tonight though. The FedEx shipping information told me that the estimated arrival time would be 3pm. So, I figured I could sleep in a little bit and wake up at 9 instead of 7. Well…that was my mistake. FedEx showed up at 8:30 this morning, left the note on my door and scuttled off. The ticket said that I could pick it up after 6:15 from the FedEx facility in Hicksville, so I talked my sister into a little 20 minute road trip and now I’m home with my baby :pets:

Everything is running smoothly. HP updated the BIOS for me as well so I thought that was nice of them. I was surprised to see that I still had 100% battery life considering it hasn’t been plugged in for 6 days. Then again, I took it right off the charger and popped the battery out before I put it into the box so I guess that had something to do with it. The only thing I’m having trouble with is getting used to the keyboard again. My wrist is cramping up but I think that’s just based on the fact that I haven’t really typed in a few days.

I have about 10 proposals to go through and another three to write up. I need to get back to a few clients about things because it’s been a few days since they’ve heard from me. I DID email them letting them know that I was going to be MIA so that should all be taken care of now. I’m writing up one for a big job and it should bring in an easy $2500 so that will be more than enough for me to get a new desktop and definitely a new printer. I want to get an all-in-one that’s connected through the router so that everyone’s computers can finally have a printer instead of them using mine. I figure I can just throw it in the living room and hook it up directly through that line, and then everything else is wireless.

My sister wants a computer, and I told her that with the way business is going that as a birthday gift to her I’ll go 50/50 on one. She doesn’t care what it is as long as she can sit comfortably in bed and still be able to watch TV so I can either get her a desktop with wireless setup or I’m just going to get her a cheap laptop. She insists on a DVD burner though. She’ll never be able to tap into any resources to burn movies, and doesn’t know enough about computers in order to even find said resources so that one is an ‘iffy’ if she wants one that bad she can get an external one and hook it up herself.

In any event, I have some work to do and need a quick cig in order to get me back into concentration mode. I’ve started to return comments but haven’t gotten around to everyone. I will soon though, I promise.

    I need to invest in a laptop for the obvious reasons and because I believe that when I try to sell the house I’m going to take the computer down. It just looks like clutter. Then again I don’t know. I’m not in an accomodating mood right now.

    I’m so glad you are back!

    I bet it’s great to have your laptop back. Isn’t it scary how we consider our computers our “babies”? lol

    It’s so awesome that you’re laptop’s back. 🙂 And going 50/50 with your sister sounds like a good plan. I was thinking of doing something like that with my little brother Matt, except for a guitar instead of a computer. Good luck with your clients. ♥

    I’m glad your laptop is back and you’re back in business. That’s really nice of you to help your sister get a computer for her birthday. I don’t think I would do that for my sister!

    Yay it’s back. I know what you mean about the wrist cramps. Whenever I go away and there is no access to a computer, it’s hard to get used to typing again (that is going to happen this summer when I got to Cape Breton).

    And FedEx is always early it seems.

    I’m tired and my teeth hurt for some reason.

    Wow your being nice to her considering what a bitch she is. Don’t get her a Dell, they may be cheap, but you get what you pay for with them cheap parts that overheat.
