Fresh Start

After getting the blue screen of death on my laptop a few times today, I decided that it was time to completely reinstall windows and start fresh. The first format didn’t want to work but that’s the one Baby did for me. The one I did for myself seemed to process OK, so it went from there. I couldn’t find any of my disks so I was unable to get any drivers working the way they were supposed to. Baby spent a few minutes on it and now everything is up and running exactly where it’s supposed to be. I almost forgot about how fast this thing could process things. I don’t like having to reinstall windows but something told me this was bound to happen considering it’s about a week after my 1-year warranty expired. I truly believe computer companies program something into windows so it crashes about a week after warranties expire. Every computer I’ve ever owned has crashed after warranties expired. I ran one fine for 3 years with no problems, the day the warranty was up – it was gone. Or maybe I’ve just got bad luck surrounding me, I don’t know.

Either way I have a lot of programs to install so I guess I should get my ass in gear.

Go immediately to Acronis, get a copy of Disk Director. Make an image of the whole boot disk. Save it on an external drive, or somebody’s hard drive.

You can do it for free. You’ll have to pay ($50?) for a license to restore, but it’s made my life very easy.

I can have a completely fresh install (patches, software, etc.) up and running in less than 60 minutes. And all I do is click “ok” and go watch TV.
