I’m … Lost?

Over the course of the last few months, I’ve spent my Wednesday evenings in front of the T.V. watching Lost. I can sense how the show kind of sucks you in but I don’t quite understand how people are so drawn by this show to the point that they go out of their way to analyze everything so meticulously. Sure, it’s an interesting show but once it’s over I don’t really think too much about it. I don’t know if it’s because I’m confused by the show, since I’ve only started watching as of the third season, or if it’s the fact that while these people don’t seem all that interesting to me, I just don’t see myself ever wanting to deal with any of them, personally, if I happened to be “plane wrecked” on an island.

I understand that each episode is based on a single day on the island. You’d think by now (considering they’re in the third season) these people would have smartened up instead of being the same morons they were when they crashed. Yes, I said it. If you know there’s something horrible floating around the woods and eating up people, don’t go in there. If you know you can’t trust “The Others” or “Dharma” then don’t involve yourself with them.

It’s kind of like high school, when you think about it. Groups of people who should have nothing to do with each other are stationed at their own little sections of the cafeteria (in this case it’s the Island) they don’t intermix because that’s nothing more than frowned upon. If the survivors, or whatever their actual name is, would smarten up. They probably could have built a boat instead of worrying about some submarine blowing up…but hey – that’s just logical thinking. They could be anywhere in the ocean – yes – but they’ve made no effort to try to leave. They’re all sitting pretty and waiting to saved. It all just seems so dumb to me.

If you can build a tent, finding rope and logs for a structure then I’m pretty damn sure you can get your little crew together and build a couple of rafts. It’s not like they’d have anything to lose – you’re already stranded on an island.

This is why I don’t get into T.V. shows – they’re filled with morons.

I agree to an extent, but in all honesty, dying at sea from lack of water and food I think would be far worse than dying on an inland where you have access to fresh water and things to eat.

I personally can’t imagine drifting at sea, surrounded by water but not being able to drink it, just waiting to die or be found or hit land. You know?
