When I was outside with Bella about an hour ago, there was this funky haze in the sky. Now it’s beautifully clear skies and I have to say – I don’t like that. I kind of hoped to get more rain then we did. I will say that the amount we got is equivalent to how long the sprinkler was going to be on so at least the flowers were watered. I know that tomorrow I’ll be outside, rain or shine, transferring the plants over to their new pots because while those are already grown – maintaining them is just as important. I can’t wait to see things pop up from under the ground though. I hope they turn out as gorgeous as they seem in the pictures…heh.

Where’d the clouds go?
Sunday, May 6th, 2007Yep, I’m tired
Sunday, May 6th, 2007I’m sure it’s no surprise considering how much I’ve been online today but my exhaustion has finally set in. I hate when I’m busy working on things and my eyelids become so heavy that my vision starts to blur. What really sucks is that tends to happen when I’m in Photoshop. I guess it’s because I’m more focused on detail when I’m designing something than I am when I’m just writing something up or surfing the ‘net.
I’m working on something big with Baby. There was a site that I was involved with years ago that I kind of wish was still around. We’re going to work on programming it and then hopefully in the next few months we’ll launch it for heaps of good fun for all. I won’t go too far into detail on it now but I just think it’ll be a nice idea for the future of blogging. It’s ‘been done’ before, and no it’s not something like a comment rotation, it’s just clean fun for everyone that should hopefully do very well.
Investing, Stocks, Trades
Sunday, May 6th, 2007When my grandmother died, many years ago, my father, aunt and uncle were all left with stock in AT&T. She worked with them for many years, and the many different names that they went through before it branched out into god knows how many companies. My aunt is actually assistant director of one of their Long Island branches (now it’s Verizon). While she doesn’t consider herself to have the inside take, I know she’s got enough shares from both work and personal that if she cashed out, she’d be worth quite a bit of money. I told my father many years ago to invest in Google, he didn’t listen and now it’s too expensive to even get a share, let alone cash out on them.
Knowing that I’ll eventually get myself into the game, I’ve been looking for ways to keep track of what’s going on and who to go through. There are programs out there that are considered an option screener where you can find, compare, analyze and just plain make money in stock option trading. It’s the only internet-based data provider that actually gives investors something called SmartSearchXL, a patented decision support technology that identifies the highest return option trades. With the click of a button in this program you can automatically sort, filter and analyze all 3,000+ optional stocks and 195,000+ options online to find investments to meet your profit goals. I think it’s a program worth checking out, based on those stats alone…don’t you?
Six Days!
Sunday, May 6th, 2007Atlantic City is six days away and I’m nervous because I’m sure I won’t win as well as I did the last time but I get to spend some much needed time with my father so it’ll even itself out. I have to remind myself that I have to call him to bring a few books down with him that I left at the house. I can’t believe I actually moved 3 states away with out my damn cook books. What was I thinking?
I did fairly well today as far as dieting is concerned. I stuck to it as much as I could, I did chug down some lemonade but that was at a moment of complete weakness and the rush of sugar kind of made my head spin. I’ve been drinking crystal light for so long that I almost forgot what sugar tasted like. I won’t make that mistake again though, that’s for sure. I’m working on getting baby into this too but he’s so set in his ways that I don’t know if it’s going to work. I guess if I keep pushing him, something will happen.
A few very busy days of work coming up for me, I’m psyched about it because that means more money to play with in A.C., Yep…I’m addicted but not to the point of wiping my life savings. I’ll go up there with the $1,000 goal I gave myself and just enjoy everything I can. I just hope I hit to big pots the way I did the first time ::Crosses Fingers::
All alone.
Sunday, May 6th, 2007Baby just put himself to sleep. He was up for a bit longer than I was today so it’s only natural that he’d fall asleep first. I’m sure I’ll be turning in soon myself but there’s a lot of things to get done. I’m still annoyed about what happened earlier with the advertisers but since I’ve got quite a bit of posting to do, that money should be made back rather quickly anyway. After a few weeks of putting it off, I’ve finally transferred all of my money to my bank account. I would have preferred to just leave it in Paypal but for some reason my damn card hasn’t shown up yet (it’s been three weeks!) Paypal is telling me to activate it but it’s kind of hard to activate something that I don’t have, you know? I know it couldn’t have been stolen by someone in NY because it’s a redirect to down here. So I know my sister or one of her asshole friends couldn’t get a hold of it. I guess I’ll have to call them soon and have things taken care of. It’s in my bank account either way, guess it doesn’t matter much.
Travel Plans: Orlando Vacations
Sunday, May 6th, 2007Vacationers are always looking for great places to spend their Christmas, spring break or even their summber break. Thousands of people flock to places like Orlando because Orlando Vacation rentals are a pretty hot item. You’re not going to find many places in the world that have 52 theme parks, beaches within 40 minutes of a drive and outstanding resorts and vacation homes to stay in for much less of a price tag than other popular destinations. Sure, Disney World is the biggest draw to Orlando but that’s not all they have to offer. They have more top rated golf courses than anywhere else in Florida. There’s also the second largest convention center in the world and since Disney World IS their biggest draw, almost every recreational activity in Orlando is family friendly.
Parks around Orlando are constantly adding new attractions and I’ve heard that they have a very, very sweet nightlife. I know a few people whom live in and around Orlando and they couldn’t be happier with their location. Beautiful beaches, warm sun and everything you could ever imagine are only a few of the top reasons why I’d visit Orlando, let alone Florida – any day of the year.
Who would you chuck?
Sunday, May 6th, 2007I don’t know where I find my links but I came across an interesting question of the day that I wanted to share (and hopefully get a response) with you.
You’re on a plane and strapped in tight with your parachute and you?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢ve been given 3 extra parachutes, but there are 4 other people who need them while the plane is crashing down. Who will you not give one to:
Tom Cruise, Jessica Simpson, Paris Hilton, or Kevin Federline?
Why?
Considering I can’t stand any one of these people, I think the only one I’d actually like to throw out of a plane would be Tom Cruise. He’s gone off the deep end anyway and the fact that he’s involved himself in a religion that states whomever makes more money in the marriage gets the child in the divorce. I’m sorry but if Katie carried the kid for nine months, latched it to her tit for another 18 months or so and then raised the kid right (lord knows he can’t) she should be entitled to full parental authority over the damn kid.
So, anyway – back to the original question at hand. Which one of them would you throw out of a plane without a parachute?
Baby already gave me his answer though, he said he’d chuck them all out but leave Jessica considering she’s the hottest. Go figure, he chooses the only one with boobs.
Spoiled Rotten
Sunday, May 6th, 2007It’s been a pretty busy night. I did a bit of cooking for the dogs. Only one of them actually eats dog food, Bella and Candy prefer something like meatloaf or chicken. The problem with this is, Candy was used to a simple meatloaf for many years. She had my meatballs once and now she absolutely refuses to eat any other kind, sauce included. It’s a trade off though, because thanks to Kay Bella now prefers to be hand-fed depending on what it is and she’ll only eat something with bottled sauce. She grew up on my home made sauce for the last 3 years. So basically Kay and I screwed each other on the deal…heh.
With the not-so-recent dog and cat food scare, knowing that Bella hasn’t eaten real wet dog food in quite some time I wasn’t too paniced when I heard about everything. She is a huge fan of Kibbles and Bits, but thankfully that wasn’t on the recall list. I came across a site not too long ago that was about 130 pages long and it had a full list of every single item of dog and cat food that was recalled. My heart went up in my chest while I was going through it because when I came across the cat food section I noticed a few familiar names, the same brands that pretty kitty had eaten for so many years. She was put down about two years ago but if she were still alive today I’d know for a fact that she wouldn’t have been for much longer. She was in the advanced stages of feline diabetes so she didn’t have much time left, as is. It sucked to put her down but she was also 16 years old so I guess there was really no choice in the matter. She had a happy life, lots of playing and plenty of lap-time with the ones she loved. She was never a run-and-hide kind of cat, she was a full-on lap cat which is why we loved her so much. I do still miss her but I know that over a period of time, you’ll lose everything you love, no matter what it may be.
Bassabid
Sunday, May 6th, 2007There are many people making hundreds of thousands of dollars a year by selling things online. It’s absolutely no surprise to me when you see other bid sites come up like bassabids.com to jump on the bandwagon. It’s not based on user bids, however. It’s a lowest bid wins kind of site. The cool thing about it is that you don’t get someone’s old items, you receive factory direct items without the store based prices. This is a pretty common thing, especially on the internet. Users send in their lowest unique bid over their cellphone or through a form online and whomever sends in this bid, gets the item.
I just think it’s cool that you can get yourself a mac notebook, $2400 value, for 57 cents. A few winners on bassabids have one iPod shuffles for $0.92, $0.70 and even $0.51. Considering it’s a $100 item, I’d say that’s not a bad deal at all. There are currently bids for a 17″ Mac Notebook, Sony 46″ TV, Mini Cooper S Convertible, iPod shuffle and even an AppleTV.
If you’re looking for a place to pick up a very cool item, without the freakishly high price tag, bassabid.com is the place to go.
WTF!?
Saturday, May 5th, 2007So I was working on my paid blog entries and I found out that one of the advertisers stole a credit card and made fraudulent purchases through their database. I’m lucky enough to have been one of those people who were screwed because of it. These users were very obviously looking for hits to their website and now they’ve gotten about 60 hits from me and I’m not going to be compensated for it. I say, fuck them up their stupid asses, but hey…that’s just me.
I don’t discredit the company in any way, however. I’ve been paid by the honest advertisers so I’m in no way held back by this sponsor. It just sucks that this happened because now that $60 that I was anticipating for Bella’s grooming isn’t going to show up. I’ll dip into my A.C. money for it though, no real loss there. I now have to go back and edit some blog entries though. Maybe I’ll just replace them with a few memes or something. I don’t like deleting posts and messing up ID numbers in the database. Yea, I’m anal…sue me.
VOIP for Small Business
Saturday, May 5th, 2007There are many people out there using the traditional calling methods. With internet based calls on the rise, getting VoIP Small Business Phone Systems is never a bad idea. A new company, Xpander Communications, specializes in small business phone solutions with a corporate feel, without the corporate pricing.
VoIP phone systems have a lot to offer the small business world, the possibilities are endless. Xpander’s small business solutions covers 1-32 users who now have the power to enjoy a level of functionality that only large businesses (up until now) have been able to take full advantage of. Your business partners can be located all over the country but you can call them with a simple 4 digit phone number that’s free of charge with your plan. This means you can talk to the president of your company by just dialing 1-2-3-4, or whatever number you happen to choose. And it doesn’t matter how far away from you they are, the sound quality is crisp and clear as though you were talking on a regular land line.
It’s worth checking out, especially those who run freelance based business with employee’s located around the country. If I had a setup like this with source-1, I’d probably still be there…heh.
Grooming…coming soon.
Saturday, May 5th, 2007I woke up a little too late today to call up the groomer but I think someone up there (points) is giving me signs about where to take her. The entire time I’ve been down here I can honestly say that I have not seen ONE commercial for a groomer, which there typically aren’t in most cases, but the one I was interested in bringing her down to had a commercial on television yesterday morning. Based on how the dogs in the place looked, it’s safe to say that I’ll be happy with my choice.
It’s going to run me about $50 to get her all groomed up. Considering I paid the same amount in NY it’s not going to be such a big deal. They’ll groom her up, cut her nails, ‘squeeze the poop shoot’ as the man on the phone so graciously put it and then she’ll be a happy, semi-hair free dog for the summer. I can’t wait for it either, the poor thing has been panting her little face off for the last few days considering how warm it’s getting down here. I didn’t factor in that it’s an average of 10 degrees hotter down here than it is up in New York so I think it’s important on keeping on top of her health (which grooming does play a roll in) on top of my own.
Diamonds are a girls BEST friend!
Saturday, May 5th, 2007Baby and I have been talking about marriage quite a bit. We have both agreed to hold off on it for a little while so we can get our lives in order, but I also know that he’s full of surprises. During my usual daily surf I came across a site for Engagement Rings and I have to say I’m pretty impressed with their database. They have everything from simple Diamond Rings to Wedding Rings.
Now, I grew up with a jewelry store in the family so I know a thing or two about diamonds and I have to say that the quality of rings on this site should be held in pretty high regard. They have a great section from .5 carats to 4 carat rings, every possible shape and beautiful cuts. Even the clarity options are gorgeous. You can completely design your own ring on this site, most jewelry stores will give you this option but sometimes you’re limited with what you can do. This site gives you full control no matter what you’re looking to setup.
Me, being a girl, obviously I’m dropping hints about which would be the best one to have, I’m also very picky about what I put on my finger. Oddly enough, however, one that was previously designed is the one that I absolutely fell in love with. I couldn’t figure out how to design it myself though. The ring I found is a diamond/platinum combination that’s very nicely put together. Some may think it’s a bit over the top but any girl who was handed something like this would probably swoon, no matter how simple they were. It’s a very clean line ring that gives you anything you could ask for.
Quest for May Flowers
Saturday, May 5th, 2007I did a little shopping today. Kay needed some ink for her printer and while Baby was in Staples, I found myself in the supermarket going through meat and what not. I picked up a few hanging plants, both of which need to be transferred to other baskets because the containers don’t really match the rest of the house. While one of them IS white, just changing the brown one over wouldn’t look right because then the pots wouldn’t match. Since there are a few pots in the kitchen just waiting to be used outside (they’re also closed off on the bottom so they don’t leak) I figure it’ll be easier to just change them over. They’re pretty pink flowers, didn’t read the names of them but once the garden has grown a little bit I’m sure I’ll have some pictures up. I would go out there now and take one but the sky has opened up, and thankfully it happened only a few minutes before I was going to go outside and water the grass. Yay for making it an easy day. I don’t have to waste water now. :w00t:
Sat-IF Day
Saturday, May 5th, 2007If you could spend 24 hours with a celebrity:
1. Who would s/he be? Rosie O’Donnel
2. Where would you expect him/her to bring you? I wouldn’t expect anything, but she has given away some awesome things in the past as far as vacations and stuff go…get me on that bandwagon!
3. Where would you bring him/her to? Hrm….I don’t know. Probably up to New York for a sake of being homesick and knowing she grew up on Long Island like me.
4. What would you like to do with him/her? Watch her go off on Donald Trump, face-to-face
5. What?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s the one thing you?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢d been always wanting to ask the celebrity? Why did you really leave “The View
6. If s/he didn?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢t treat you well, would s/he be your favorite celebrity? Yes, of course. I’ve been a fan of her for 10+ years.
7. What would you give to him/her as a gift before saying goodbye so s/he?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢d remember you? A penny, they’re good luck you know.
This may seem dumb but some stupid advertiser screwed me out of money, I had to replace the post with SOMETHING.
Slept In
Saturday, May 5th, 2007I’m kicking myself right now because I slept way longer than originally anticipated. I know I didn’t get to sleep until after 4am but I figured waking up around noon would be a solid 8 hours. You can imagine my surprise when I woke up to see the clock stopped at 2:40PM. I kicked myself out of bed and I’ve been getting a lot done ever since.
I’m going to head outside soon to get the flowers watered, I’m also going to probably be making a trip over to Super Fresh to pick up some ground beef for the dogs ($1.99LB – for 90% lean that isn’t bad). Then I’m getting some hanging plants to put up on the porch to help complete the overall look that I’m shooting for on the front of the house. I also have some work to do but I’m side-tracked because my list has disappeared and I have no idea what’s even pending to be done. I’m going to have to write everything down and weed things out from there I guess.
