It’s rather hot in here…

Monday, July 24th, 2006

I know I haven’t been around very much lately – this is because I’ve been busy with work. I’ve also recently had some very special company spend a few days with me so I’ve been working on that as well. I don’t wish to go to details there because unlike some people I don’t need to have my personal life hung out there like laundry drying on a line. All I’m going to say is I’m falling for him, and that’s that.

I spent today with my mom – freaky right? It wasn’t too bad though. Her inlaws (I guess that would make them my step-grand parents) went away for a few weeks and she invited my sister and I over to their house to hang out in the pool. Now, I haven’t swam since I was 12; so this is going on 10 years without any floating time.

I hopped right in when I got there, I couldn’t wait. I didn’t have a bathing suit so I just went in with shorts and a tshirt. No big deal – I enjoyed myself either way. I do have a bathing suit but my sister had already stole it from me. Originally I wasn’t going to go and then I looked at the little pool I bought the other day and realized it just wasn’t cutting it. I needed to float in the water – not just sit in it.

My back – thankfully – is feeling great right now. I propped myself up in front of one of the jets and it just felt amazing on my shoulder (where most of my problems are). I’m so relaxed right now it’s unreal.

I got a little bit of color, but I’ve been working outside for the last few days in the sun so I’ve been able to pick up a bit here and there. My legs are still not tanning well though. I can literally stand outside for an hour in direct sunlight and not burn. I can’t burn and I can’t tan so it’s really getting to be annoying. My legs are getting SOME color to them but not enough for me to be content with it. My arms are getting kind of dark, as is my face, but that’s about it. It sucks but nothing I can do about it.

In any event, I’m going to head off – later gators.

Need help…

Wednesday, July 19th, 2006

I have been hit with excessive overdraft fees on my bank account for the last few weeks. I don’t know why, and the bank isn’t really telling me anything. So this is basically my plea post to anyone who will listen. There is nothing in the general area that is hiring, everyone is over-staffed for the summer and won’t be hiring until late August, early September, which does not help me out at all.

My bank account is on hold, I can only deposit money until the $92 worth of over-draft fee’s are taken care of. I’m broker than broke and have bills to pay (Around $250 worth). I’ve been posting on GAF and Craigslist, as well as answering every job listing I can find in order to bring in some money but nothing seems to work. I’m giving you a list break down of every and anything I can do in order to bring in some more clients….in hopes that any of you are interested.

I need to raise approximately $350 in order to gain some stability again.

Your NB4F account will show as valid but you will not be charged any money through AOL, so this will cost you absolutely NOTHING. All you need is a credit card. Again, NO CHARGES will be made to your credit card.

I’ve learned….

Wednesday, July 19th, 2006

I’ve learned that you cannot make someone love you. All you can do is stalk them and hope they panic and give in.

I’ve learned that no matter how much I care, some people are just assholes.

I’ve learned that it takes years to build up trust, and it only takes suspicion, not proof, to destroy it.

I’ve learned that you can get by on charm for about fifteen minutes. After that you’d better have a big willy or huge boobs.

I’ve learned that you shouldn’t compare yourself to others – they are more screwed up than you think.

I’ve learned that you can keep vomiting long after you think you’re finished.

I’ve learned that we are responsible for what we do, unless we are celebrities.

I’ve learned that regardless of how hot and steamy a relationship is at first, the passion fades, and there had better be a lot of money to take it’s place!

I’ve learned that 99% of the time when something isn’t working in your house, one of your kids did it.

I’ve learned that people you care most about in life are taken from you too soon and all the less important ones just never go the fuck away.

Oh the heat!

Tuesday, July 18th, 2006

An extreme heat wave has hit the tri-state area. Temperatures lingering around the 105°F mark (40.5°C) during the day have had me stuck indoors and very uncomfortable. I’m only blogging right now because I don’t know if I’ll have power for much longer. There was a blackout warning sent out to all hospitals on Long Island (to my knowledge) until 10:30PM this evening. It makes perfect sense though.

Right now it’s around 6:30PM, for the past hour (and next few hours) people will be coming home from work, turning on their air conditioners and overloading power plants in the area. With how unstable LIPA has proven to be for the last few weeks, it’s only natural that something will randomly just blow up and I’ll be left without power.

Down with the sickness…
This doesn’t help me very much though. I haven’t really been feeling well lately. I’m still battling my cold and the heat doesn’t help either, it just makes me feel worse so I’m very easily agitated lately. It also doesn’t help that I have two very bad tooth aches and no real pain-killers to help me out. I take Aleve, because it’s the only thing that works, I’m immune to everything else. I send my sister to the store to pick some up for me and she comes back with Advil. Why? Because it said “toothache” on the box, as though that would actually fucking help me. It’s not a toothache anymore, it’s a full on infection and since I have no insurance, I have to deal with the pain until the nerve finally dies.

Business woe’s….
I’ve been lurking around the ‘net bidding on every possible job I can find. I have a few leads that may work to my advantage, but nothing set in stone as of right now. I got a few emails about the $30 deal, which I have to reply to tonight (I’m aware of the fact that I’m taking a while, again – I haven’t been feeling well). I’m going back to my search for grants, and working on a few ideas for future job ventures that hopefully will work to my advantage.

Wrapping it up…
In any event, I think I’m going to head off. I’m downloading some programs. A few of the leads are company outsource based and they require that I have either Dreamweaver, FrontPage or both. I don’t totally see the point in using this programs since I code everything by hand, but if I have to suck it up and deal with it in order to get the job, then so be it.

I know I’m behind on my comments, I’ll make those up in a little while when my bandwidth is back to the proper speed.

Move complete.

Monday, July 10th, 2006

If you are currently reading this then you’ll be happy to know that k.nu is moved successfully to its new server. In moving around accounts, I decided to move off main AGn-Solutions server (venus) and setup a reseller account on another server. Everything is still agn-solutions.net based, it’s just moved around a bit.

I’m still sick and running on practically no sleep. I’m at my aunts house right now and I’m not really enjoying myself. The Air Conditioner is broken and it’s like 90* outside. I had the AC in my uncles room on but now he’s got the door closed so there’s no air moving through the house at all. The one in the living room is on it’s last leg. It sounds like a car that’s out of gas. It keeps cranking and cranking and cranking but won’t turn over. It’s either out of Freeon or it’s just going to die in general. It’s 20 years old so you could expect for that to happen I guess. Either way it’s making me miserable.

I didn’t get to sleep until about 430 this morning then my uncle was walking around at 6:30AM and never picks up his damn feet when it walks so his slippers were making all kinds of noise. My aunts friend stayed here last night, she’s not as noisey as my uncle but people walking around in the same room when I’m trying to sleep just aggitates me. I was on the couch sweating my ass off. I woke up to take a shower, one of three. It kind of sucks but nothing I can really do about it. I don’t know how to fix an air conditioner.

My throat is acting up so I think I’m gonna lay down. I swear, I take air conditioning for granted. I usually have it blasting wherever I am. I’m about to curl up in my aunts room, even though her friend has kind of taken it over, but there IS air conditioning in there and I just see it as the only option at the moment – unfortunately.

Sick=SUCKS!

Wednesday, July 5th, 2006

I’ve been meaning to blog for a few days but I just haven’t had the energy to do it. I never went to sleep on Saturday night, I finally crashed for like 4 hours on Sunday afternoon. I woke up and realized that my day was shot. This didn’t stop me from staying awake until 6am Monday morning. So my schedule is totally shot to hell.

On Sunday, my throat was bothering me. By Monday morning, it was a cough and by Monday afternoon it was a full blown cold like nobody’s business. I made a promise to myself the last time I got sick that I would not blow my nose no matter how much it was bothering me. So I have no idea as to why I blew my nose yesterday because it’s been non-stop ever since. It’s driving me crazy.

If I’m not coughing, I’m sneezing. If I’m not sneezing I’m blowing my nose, and if I’m not blowing my nose I’m sniffling. So no matter what I do I’m basically making as much noise as humanly possible. I know it’s driving Bella crazy because she hasn’t been sleeping in bed with me like she usually does. Which I guess I don’t mind because the last thing I need when I’m sick is someone touching me. My sister poked me this afternoon and I wanted to rip her face off.

Purple fades…
My toe is slowly beginning to heal, it’s still purple but not AS purple as it was. I’m not sure if it was a ‘break’ though, I’m convinced it’s more of a hefty sprain because it still hurts to put pressure on it, even a week after it happened. I went to Payless this afternoon and got myself a new pair of mules. The swelling went down enough that I could fit my foot into the shoe without wincing in pain so I figured that was as good a time as any to go out and buy a new pair. They only cost me like $11, which kind of peeved me because the website said $7.99 but I really could care less at this point. I got myself some socks too, didn’t spend over $15 (which was the original budget anyway) so I’m not overly concerned about it. I know you’re sitting there like “Damn, cheap much?” but that’s really not the case. I use the slip-ons for house hold things like walking the dog, taking out the garbage, etc. They wouldn’t really leave the general area of my house so what’s the point of dropping anything more than like $10-$15 on something that is used only for ‘slip-on and go’ kind of stuff…you know?

To tan…or not to tan…
I went to Walgreen?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s, picked up what I needed for this weekend. I’m going to be at my aunts house. I’ll have my laptop with me so I’ll have something to do. It’s my goal to be outside soaking up as much sun as possible. She has a very private yard so I don’t have to worry about a child or pet midget popping up out of no where. It’ll be nice to sit back and relax without a care in the world. I’ll be able to sleep without a dog between my legs. I’ll have 600 channels to flip through and not be able to find anything to watch. I’ll have Figgy to keep me company when I’m really bored, and a deli right down the street for when I’m in the mood for my typical Sunday breakfast of yogurt and a croissant, whenever I’m at her house.

Sitely…
It took me a lot longer than expected but I’m finally on top of all of my listings as far as member approvals go. I still have a few hate listings to move over to new addresses and to upgrade them to Enthusiast as well. The database for Enthusiast is a bit more secure than the ones are for PHP Fanbase. I know that issue has been around for about a year now but either way it’s one I’m slowly working on correcting. I was considering just leaving it and writing in an image verification for the submit forms but I’m really not in the mood to fuck around with someone else?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s code so I’ll just stick to Enthusiast and not care too much about it.

I did write an image verification for one of my cliques. It was being run with acidCLIQUE and I’m now working on moving it over to a new setup. There are only about 300 members but even still, I don’t want to lose that database anytime soon. I’m reconfiguring it for mass-editing as well as image verification. I didn’t think it was as insecure as it is but apparently I was wrong. It gets more spam than PHP Fanbase ever did. So much for thinking I was doing the right thing by creating my own script for it…eh?

And yea…
In any event. I just got the shit scared out of me by one of my sisters friends who jogged up the stairs out of absolutely no where. He’s a very dark kid to begin with so wearing black clothes in an area that’s damn near pitch-black did not work out well at all. I almost shit myself until I realized who it was. I don’t like the bastard, but at least I know him by name, which is more than I can say about any of her other friends. They all have some kind of stupid nickname that makes no sense to the rest of humanity so at least he’s a step up from them, still an ignorant bastard either way though LOL.

I’m signing off for the night. I’ll poke around from time to time to see what’s going on. I’ll also be checking in on my despair, xposure and other rotations as the days go by.

Later all.

Happy July!

Saturday, July 1st, 2006

As you can probably already tell, there’s a new theme here on k.nu. I change them around once a month so this one will obviously be around until the end of July. Something about how the colors mixed well together gave me enough of an excuse to call it a summer theme. And, this is something I’m happy about. I put a quite a bit of work into it as far as coloring and everything else goes, so I’m happy with it. If you happen to run it through a style sheet, you’ll see that unlike those on the ‘net who swear their ‘elite’ I actually have valid CSS2 code to back it up. Jealous are we? I think so too.

Work related
Work has been kind of slow for the last few days. It’s mainly a wordpress theme here, validation there, nothing major. No big jobs have come in, as of yet. I’ve put in a bid for a few jobs that are in the $3k range, but who knows what will happen there. I spent today putting the final touches on this theme and plugging RSS feeds into Trillian. So now I basically don’t even have to go to websites anymore, I can just read the feed and decide whether or not I want to see the rest of the entry.

Feed me!
Someone brought Feedburner to my attention this week. They saw it on someone’s site and thought I’d be interested. I played around with it a little but no one subscribes to my feeds so it’s really not worth it. I know that Stacey does through her LiveJournal account, but that’s just about it, as far as I know. It’s no big deal though.

Dreams = Money
Mega million drawings are tonight, like every Tuesday and Friday evening. I spent $10 on tickets, nothing too extreme. The pot is up to $12mil. If I would have won on Tuesday, instead of someone in Ohio, it would have been $26mil. It got me to thinking though. At this point, living in NY with $12mil won’t get you very far. Sure, it’ll get you a decent sized house but taxes around here are beyond extreme and it’s just not worth wasting the money. So, I’m thinking about Maine. I’ve seen listings up there where you can get 8 acres of land for like $120k. On Long Island there isn’t 8 acres to spare, and if there is it’d run a couple million…at least. So in my little dream world, since I have nothing else to do. I’ve been thinking about everything I’ve always wanted when it comes to owning my own home.

A huge kitchen with lots of space, an indoor pool because in Maine the highest average for summer temperatures is like 79°, a big master bedroom, a ‘game room’ with pool table, dart board and of course…a bar. I’ve been looking around Google for pictures and what not and I’ve come across some really nice setups that I would absolutely LOVE to have, so I saved them to keep in my ‘dream’ folder in case something like this is actually a reality some day. The house itself wouldn’t have to be huge, I’m not looking for something like that. Everything I want can fit into something that’s like 2000-2500 sqft. Which may seem large, but when you break it down that the whole back end of the house is going to be a pool/jacuzzi and patio area, it really isn’t that large.

Back to reality…
I’m still waiting on Freepay to process my order for the digital camera. They said 7-10 business days so I’m sure by next Wednesday I’ll actually know what’s going on there. I’m excited either way, I can’t wait to go back to taking pictures again. Right now, since my digital doesn’t have a working flash, I’ve had to have pictures either taken outside during the day, or every light on in the room just to make sure it’s bright enough….which is very annoying so the change will be nice.

I thought my aunts trip was going to be longer than it actually is. I’ll only be at her house from Friday the 7th, to Tuesday the 11th. It’s still not too bad though, I get to relax in a nice quiet house for a few days without having to listen to all of the idiots who linger around on my block during the day. I can sit outside in the back yard and soak up the sun. I don’t have to worry about waking up to walk the dog so I can sit back and relax.

Purple isn?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢t pretty
I’ve been nursing a broken/sprained toe since Tuesday night. We have a block up in front of Dad’s door to keep the dog out of there. A baby gate you can call it (even though it’s just a folding chair). I went in his room on Tuesday night to turn his AC on so that when he got back from Atlantic City he wasn’t walking into a sauna. On my way out the door, I hooked my pinkie toe on the chair and I felt it pop. The chair itself then dropped on my foot in the process. Right now it’s a gorgeous shade of purple and walking is just not something I’m happy about.

When I walk the dog in the morning, I usually just slip on the mules and head down stairs. The mistake I’ve made is when you’re wearing shoes that are slip-ons, you tend to grip with your toes to keep them on. I realized this after I was waddling half way down the stairs the following morning. Bella, as usual, wanted to take off and run but I couldn’t bounce like that, so she damn near hung her self because she took off like a shot while I was still taking my time getting down stairs. Needless to say, I’ve had everyone else walking the dog just so I don’t have to deal with the pain. I’m sure my foot will heal up at some point, but right now I just wish the pain would go away.

OMG…seriously?
I’ve cut back on smoking, quite a bit. I used to go to about a pack a day (20 cigs) and now I’m down to 5. Considering how much I smoke, this is a HUGE deal. It’s my goal to completely quit by the end of July. It’s not going to be pretty but I really just don’t want to smoke anymore. Quitting cold turkey is impossible for me, I’ve tried it before. I’ve found that the method that works is cutting back one cig each day. So, by the time July 20th rolls around, I should be good on just one cig a day. Then I’ll break it down to one cig every other day, and so on and so forth until they’re completely gone. This will mean an extra $30 in my pocket every week to use on more important things. Like…I don’t know….strippers and prostitutes lol.

In any event, I’m going to head off. I’m going to have my last cig for the day, curl up in bed and watch some TV.

When you give up…it shows up.

Tuesday, June 27th, 2006

I didn’t really want to update until Saturday when I put up the new theme, but I have exciting news that I believe just can’t wait.

For the past month and a half I’ve been waiting for Freepay to process my approval form for the Digitial Camera. I’ve logged in every day and haven’t seen the status change. BUT – TODAY it finally did.

Freepay

I jumped up and down and instantly sent a screen shot to anyone who was online. Christie, Heather, Stacey, Tom, Stick Boy, and Sean. The one person I wanted to send it to was Jackie but she’s currently on her way to New Jersey for a wedding. I already knew my choice though, the Olympus SP-350 · 8 Megapixel camera. The reason is because it looks more like an SLR than the rest of the cameras to choose from. It’s also got better stats than the Fuji 9mpxl that was on the site. Not to mention, it’s just nice looking too.

Freepay

It takes approximately 7-10 business days to process and then 3-5 to ship. I’m going to assume that I won’t have it until sometime after I’m at my aunts house, so that’s ok. It would have been nice to use her house as my first pictures but I’ll get over it.

Dad’s currently in Atlantic City, he left early Sunday morning and I’m going to assume that he’s on his way back up here now considering he has work tomorrow morning. When he called on Sunday he said he was up and very happy. When I called him on Monday to wish him a Happy Birthday he was down, which is typically how it happens for my family anyway. He saved enough to tell me that he was getting a new vanity for the bathroom this week.

I did my planting on Saturday, it was pouring but that didn’t make it any less fun. The kids helped me out, I do have a picture of the ‘after’ but I don’t have any pictures of the process. It was raining too hard to have anything electronic out here. Sure we were under the awning but it was windy so it would have gotten soaked anyway. Thankfully, with all the rain everything was watered so I’m pretty happy with that. They’re already starting to bud so hopefully in a few weeks I’ll see some flowers show up. I can’t wait.

BUT while we were planting dad noted that there needs to be some kind of gravel in the bottom to keep the soil from draining out of the holes. I figured “Okay…I’ll just use what’s left from the fish tank”. Unfortunately, that tank was thrown out, along with all of the gravel. Then I realized that since mom was such a pack rat, there was still some tile left over from when she redid the tile in the bathroom like 10 years ago. So I went into the bathroom, opened up the cabinet, found the tile and then saw it was covered in mold. I made Dad get it out so he could see just what kind of crap we’re dealing with in there. It then convinced him to get a new one. So, I’ll be going to Home Depot sometime soon to pick out the one I want.

On the 7th to the 14th, I’m going to be at my aunts house. I’ll have my laptop with me, so I can still work. She’s going to Vegas because one of her friends has a time share or something out there, I’m not sure what it is. I just know that the room is free for the week so her and some friends are hopping on that opportunity.

Normally when I’m house sitting I’d have Joe over, so it’s going to be a pretty rough week for me. I’m slowly beginning to get over his death, because I know he’s in a better place away from the doctors and all of the disease that over ran his body for many years, that doesn’t mean I still don’t miss him just the same. I just want to pick up the phone and call him to say “Come on over!” but I can’t anymore and reality is finally starting to kick in for me and I know that I have to let it go. It’s not easy, but over time I’d assume that I’ll be ok.

Work Related
I’m trying to pick up as many jobs as possible but it’s taking a little more time than I would have liked. No one has really shown total interest in the $30 deal. I’ve gotten a few emails about it, but no return emails about going through with it fully. I’m hoping something will pick up soon though, this way I have money set aside for the BBQ.

BBQ
At this point though, I’m not sure if it’s going to happen to the scale that I’d like it to so I haven’t said much about it. My goal is to have it sometime around the 22nd but depending on financial status it may be pushed to a week or two later. I do still want to have it, I’d love to see Christie and Heather in one big group setting but I guess I’ll just have to see what happens there.

Code Guru
I’ve had a very productive week though. I re-did a few of my cliques and I also put the final touches on my July theme. After doing some reading, thanks to the links Sean sent me. I was able to find out why my style sheets would validated but had warnings. I’ve managed to now master CSS2 so there are absolutely no warnings on any of my style sheets and that’s something I’m very happy about. I almost changed the theme to XHTML Strict so that I could be super elite but I realized that since I have to link my banner rotations in an I-frame (for some god forsaken reason) that the theme wouldn’t validate to strict so I guess I’ll just stick with Transitional. I’d prefer to have links target to a new window anyway.

In any event…my next update will most likely be on Saturday when I put up the new theme. I’ve re-entered myself into the blog rotations so I’ll be around to comment and what not.

Later gators.

Mobile Meme: Bathroom

Tuesday, June 20th, 2006

So I’m sitting here in the bathroom wondering why I set this weeks Mobile Meme in here. I could have come up with more creative places but I thought this one would be humorous. Maybe I’m wrong, maybe I’m right.

I hate this room because it used to be my sanctuary but now it’s nothing more than a huge hole in the wall with a toilet. The sink needs to be replaced, there are no walls in the shower, and I’m afraid to have anyone even use the place because I’m sure they’d be thinking “Ewe!” in reference to the rusty sink and half bath. I can’t wait until that big account comes through so I can finally do something in here.

I’d love to put up new walls, a new floor and definitely a new vanity. I want to get that “Tub Surround” stuff from Bath Fitter so that I don’t have to worry about scrubbing grout lines a few months down the road. There’s no storage in here so a nice cabinet with a vanity would look great and I can’t wait until I can put in a new floor. There’s peal-n-stick linoleum at Home Depot that would look wonderful in here. I’ve just been itching to do this for 4 years.

You see…I’ve been using my fathers shower because it’s the only one with walls at the moment. It’s cramped in there though. It’s just a small closet, in a small bathroom and my sister has so many hair products it’s unreal. I don’t understand how anyone could need that much stuff. I have shampoo, conditioner, body wash, a razor and loofa. It all fits perfectly on one small shelf so there’s hardly any room being taken up at all. That’s the same way this bathroom would look, especially considering there would be storage in here after I redo the place because then none of her makeup or any of that other useless stuff would be thrown around.

The sink is filled with hair care products and make-up. It’s hard to even wash your hands anymore because the faucet is so old that it’s hard to turn the handles. The over-flow hole in the sink has rusted through so when the water in the sink is turned on – you need to control the water flow to something on the low side so that you don’t get any water under the sink (through the hole).

We moved in here just as they created the apartments up here, so 17 years of using the sinks and showers would obviously have their toll taken on them over time. Some people, when they take good care of the bathroom, it can uphold itself for quite a few years. Unfortunately by the time my sister and I were in that mind set, the damage was already done.

The shower rusted out because of how careless the contractor was when he framed out the bathroom window. The window itself is inside of the shower and instead of tilting the ledge so that the water beads off, it was left flat so that the water is collected in it. After 15 years of this, the wall became rotted. With rot, comes mold…with mold comes drywall being destroyed and having to be taken out so that there wasn’t any toxic mold (black mold) being spewed into the air that 3 people breath in on a regular basis.

The pictures will basically show you everything I’ve had to deal with over the years. Having a contractor in here recently, the damage done plus any remodeling would run us in the ballpark of $3,000. This is why I’ve been saving any and all money that I can towards this project. I have about a thousand saved, but that’s only 1/3 of the bill. You can imagine how annoying it gets sharing a small bathroom with three people. Especially considering my fathers bathroom is in worse shape, we have tarps on the walls just so we can use the shower. It’s horrible, I can’t wait until things are fixed.

Hopefully the next time I have any pictures of my bathroom, it will be the finished product of my brand new bathroom. ::wishes::

Sat-IF Day

Saturday, June 17th, 2006

Sat-IF Day (hasn’t been updated since February but it’s a Saturday meme just the same. If you can’t pick up on sarcasm then obviously you shouldn’t be reading this.

If you could spend 24 hours with a celebrity:

  1. Who would s/he be? Hitler
  2. Where would you expect him/her to bring you? Back to his house for a little love making.
  3. Where would you bring him/her to? The shower – scrub a dubb dubb
  4. What would you like to do with him/her? Have you not picked up on this already? Jesus
  5. What?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s the one thing you?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢d been always wanting to ask the celebrity? How’d he do it?
  6. If s/he didn?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢t treat you well, would s/he be your favorite celebrity? He didn’t treat anyone well – dipshit!
  7. What would you give to him/her as a gift before saying goodbye so s/he?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢d remember you? A hickey :w00t:

Bored

Saturday, June 17th, 2006

I found this while surfing through blogexplosion. I figured since I haven’t updated in a while it was time to post something.

1. What do you think might be the next great discovery we will witness?
My aunt’s real hair color.

2. What do you feel are your greatest strengths and weaknesses?
Strengths – Flexability // Weaknesses – Gag reflex

3. Why do you think your last relationship failed?
It’s only over because he’s dead 🙁

4. If you could change careers, what would you do instead?
Yea, I’ve always wanted to see what FICA does with my tax dollars.

5. What was the first work of art you saw in person that really impacted you?
This girl in pre-school drew this amazing circle with a square in it…changed my life.

6. When you were a child, where did you find solace? And now, as an adult, where do you seek it?
I used to hide under the bed with the little green monsters. I’d go under there now, but the bed is just too low to the ground to get under there.

7. To what degree do you think fear or insecurity impacts our abilities or success?
:: yawns :: huh?

8. Oh, no. There?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s a fire. What do you take with you? (Other than photos, animals, or people.)
The little blue box under my bed. Just because there’s a fire doesn’t mean someone can’t steal your identity!

9. [Fill in the blank] makes my head explode.
Stupid survey’s like this

10. Most people wouldn?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢t guess that I [fill in the blank].
Have a crush on you.

Hiatus = OVER!

Wednesday, June 14th, 2006

So I finally have my laptop back. It’s so much easier to get things done now. I’m not stuck in the living room, I don’t have to listen to the dog running up and down the hall, and I don’t have to listen to the little bastard spawn of Satan in the end apartment bouncing off the walls.

I almost didn’t have this tonight though. The FedEx shipping information told me that the estimated arrival time would be 3pm. So, I figured I could sleep in a little bit and wake up at 9 instead of 7. Well…that was my mistake. FedEx showed up at 8:30 this morning, left the note on my door and scuttled off. The ticket said that I could pick it up after 6:15 from the FedEx facility in Hicksville, so I talked my sister into a little 20 minute road trip and now I’m home with my baby :pets:

Everything is running smoothly. HP updated the BIOS for me as well so I thought that was nice of them. I was surprised to see that I still had 100% battery life considering it hasn’t been plugged in for 6 days. Then again, I took it right off the charger and popped the battery out before I put it into the box so I guess that had something to do with it. The only thing I’m having trouble with is getting used to the keyboard again. My wrist is cramping up but I think that’s just based on the fact that I haven’t really typed in a few days.

I have about 10 proposals to go through and another three to write up. I need to get back to a few clients about things because it’s been a few days since they’ve heard from me. I DID email them letting them know that I was going to be MIA so that should all be taken care of now. I’m writing up one for a big job and it should bring in an easy $2500 so that will be more than enough for me to get a new desktop and definitely a new printer. I want to get an all-in-one that’s connected through the router so that everyone’s computers can finally have a printer instead of them using mine. I figure I can just throw it in the living room and hook it up directly through that line, and then everything else is wireless.

My sister wants a computer, and I told her that with the way business is going that as a birthday gift to her I’ll go 50/50 on one. She doesn’t care what it is as long as she can sit comfortably in bed and still be able to watch TV so I can either get her a desktop with wireless setup or I’m just going to get her a cheap laptop. She insists on a DVD burner though. She’ll never be able to tap into any resources to burn movies, and doesn’t know enough about computers in order to even find said resources so that one is an ‘iffy’ if she wants one that bad she can get an external one and hook it up herself.

In any event, I have some work to do and need a quick cig in order to get me back into concentration mode. I’ve started to return comments but haven’t gotten around to everyone. I will soon though, I promise.

Yippie!

Wednesday, June 14th, 2006

Since everyone else is asleep I figured it would be a good time to pop online and check my email. Based on the one I received from HP, my laptop is on it’s way back to me! Thankfully, by this afternoon, I’ll be back into the swing of things.

I can finally get some work done. I have a lot of proposals to look through, a couple to write up and a few hosting accounts to setup that I couldn’t do from this computer. It’s hard to setup reseller accounts when you don’t have access to the right programs. I like to see proposals building up, it’s a good feeling knowing that I’ve got a heap of work coming my way.

It’s my goal in a few months to get a new desktop. I’m not going to go crazy on the modifications because it would really only be used as a back up. So I have no intent of getting anything more than a gig of ram, fairly new processor, 80gig hard drive and only a 128mb video card. I can get a system like that for under $500 so I’m definitely not complaining. Hell, I was even considering an E-Machine just for kicks, but I won’t stoop to that level, I’ll stick to HP/Compaq.

I’m still waiting for FreePay to process my digital camera form. It’s been two weeks so I’m to a point now of just being annoyed by it. I’m going to give it until Friday and then if nothing changes I’m going to email them and ask what the hold-up is about. After talking to Jackie (the only REAL photographer in the personal site world, not the point-n-shoot cam shit that everyone does) I’m going to get the Olympus, it’s more like an SLR which is exactly what I was looking for, the stats on it are also a lot better than I’d originally thought. It’s the 8 mega pixel, the Fuji is the 9 mega pixel but considering the bulk of the images will never be larger than 1024×768 – I really don’t think there’s going to be a difference. So I’m certainly anticipating this one. I know that Alicia wanted professional looking engagement images so hopefully this cam gets here before they get married in November 2007, yea…that’s just how long FreePay seems to take these days heh.

In any event, it’s about 1am and I know that I need to be up in 7 hours so I’m going to head off and get some sleep. I guess the ‘hiatus’ message just wasn’t needed at all, I honestly didn’t think I’d have any time out here where I’m not dealing with the rest of the family breathing down my neck. I’m definitely on hiatus from WORK but thankfully that will change after FedEx gets here tomorrow afternoon – yay!

Night all.
